Severe Back Pain Near SI joint

by LauraC1985, May 05, 2009 03:03PM
I was born with severe case of turned in feet, they called it pigeon toed, or banana feet. I wore braces on my legs for 6 years to straighten them. I was very active in sports until last year as a goalie in hockey and soccer. I suffer debilitating pain where no position provides comfort. Most of the pain is on the left side by the S.I. joint, sometimes it hurts so badly i can't breathe. Most of the time the pain comes from me sitting at work. I have seen many doctors who just tell me to stretch and give me pain killers that i don't really want to have to rely on. I had one x ray showed nothing, should i push to get an MRI? I dont know i just need to get to the bottom of it and find some relief.

Hi and welcome to back and neck support forum.

I was recently dx with a condition that when reading up on it described the pigeon toed positioning of the feet as part of the condition...I did not have that precurser but I do have the condition  neway.

Since u mentioned ur joints and the pain I wonder what else u might have going on and I do believe ur idea of the MRI is a sound one.

May I ask, do u have a tendency to be double jointed?

Since I am not a medical professional...I can not say u do or do not have something, but please look into Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and ask ur dr if this could be some of ur issues.Info available in the chiari forum's Health Pages.

Let mem know what u think and what ur dr says.
