Severe Lower Back Pain

for a month now, i have been experiencing excruciating lower back pain and it's mostly on the right side. it is a very sharp, constant throbbing pain. i also noticed that the right side of my back where it hurts the most seems to be a little swollen and that it almost feels like there is a little "air pocket" like it's elevated away from my body. it's really extremely difficult to explain. i was thinking that maybe it's because a few years ago i had to go to the hospital. they took x-rays and said that my tailbone was completely straight instead of being curved slightly. so, that could be the problem, but obviously i'm not 100% sure. if someone could tell me what exactly they think could be causing this i would greatly appreciate it. thank you.

I suggest you request an MRI of the lumbar and sacral spine.  Issues with the tail bone could lead to sacrolitis. (pain between the tailbone and hip bone.)  There could also be something up with your lumbar spine that is causing your  problem.  I hope everything works out for you.
