Symptoms of the upper extremity are more likely to originate from the cervical spine if related to a disc or nerve problem.
If it persists and occurs without any associated reason, it would be helpful to mention it to your doctor and see if further evaluation is needed.
Your recovery from the laminectomy is progressing slowly. Have you begun any physical therapy or other rehab program to strengthen your low back? It may be that because your symptoms were present for over a year prior to surgery that you are slow in achieving more pain relief, Discuss therapy options with your doctor and see if you can begin increasing your activity level without risk of complications.
