Surgery for a 16 year old male

I am a 16 year old former football/ice hockey player who 1 month ago underwent L4 L5 fusion surgery.  The pain in my back was unbearble.  My spine was in great shape and still is, except for the total disk explosion that occured at L4 L5.  They fused them with hardware and a plastic disk.  Today I am pain free.  No pills, no nothing.  Everyday I get around better and better, walking, starting to move easier and easier.  Surgery was my best option and so far it seems to have been succesfull.  My parents were and still are a mess, but they are getting better also.  Surgery was our last option, but I developed foot drop on my left side and thay was enough for parents to make the decision.  I know that I am young, but hope to have a lifetime free of back pain.  I know everyone is diffent, but surgery was best for me.

Thank God someone has some good news!! LOL!  I'm sure anyone who reads this is happy for you and it gives them hope with their own physical ailments.
