Syringomyelia

Syringomyelia

So I was finally told I have a syrinx and I will be going to see a neurosurgeon sometime in the near future.
I was told about the syrinx 3 years ago on a previous MRI scan, but told by my family doctor not to worry about it.
Thank god I'm seeing a neurologist about it now!

I believe my syrinx was causes by an injury.  Now every time I am active, such as cleaning my house, working on the garden, going for a run, long fast paced walks, bike rides, etc. my symptoms become worse.

My question is, am I hurting myself by being active??  I miss running so much and still try to get a few in but I think I must be causing permanent damage if I continue.  Should I stop everything that causes my symptoms to occur?

Thanks for reading.
