Tailbone Pressure

Tailbone Pressure

Right at the bottom of my tailbone at the very top of my behind I have a swollen bubble of water.
I've had it once before but it was just a loonie size hard bump that I was able to squeeze water out of until it went away. This time it is very painful. At first I was able to squeeze a little water out of it with a little blood, but it has sealed.

I'm wondering what it is? Why it's back? Should I pop poke it with a needle to try and get the water out?
Will it go away on it's own? Should I get it tested?

DO NOT attempt to poke or squeeze this site!  It may appear as a pimple or blister, but may be just the tip of a condition known as a pilonidal cyst.  This needs to be assessed by a doctor and, if it is indeed a pilonidal cyst. will need to be surgically excised.
These cysts are not uncommon and usually only come to a head after some mild trauma to the area.  They used to call it "GI Bump" as many WWII soldiers developed the cysts after riding in a jumpy jeep!
The important thing is to avoid any possible source of infection, so the skin covering the area is acting as a natural barrier to germs, etc.  Make an appt with your doctor.
