Transitional Vertebra and incontinence

Transitional Vertebra and incontinence

My son is 8.  He has bad problems with urinary incontinence for 4 years.  Constant dribbling, UTI's, hydronephrosis, etc.  He has had VCUG and cystoscopy.  There is no physical blockage.  His urologist says the blockage is functional, in other words, sphincter dyssynergia.  As far as I can tell people with this conditional have a serious disease such as cerebral palsy or MS.  He has none of these and has no other health or behavioral problems.  He had an MRI about 2 years ago showing transitional vertebra S1-L5 and mild disc bulges at L1-2, L3-4, L4-5.  Could this be pressing on nerves and causing his problems? Also scoliosis runs in my family although I usually associate this with females."

Hi....not sure if ur DS's condition has progressed since his last MRI, but u may want to have another one to compare and see if nething else shows up.

Did ur DS have a fall or in a MVA at age 4? Just wondering Y at age 4 this started.....

There r so many conditions outside of MS that could do this as well...was he checked for lymes, or lupus?...a syrinx?

Also, since his vertabra are shifted out of their normal place, has he been checked for Ehlers Danlos syndrome?

Good luck
Godspeed
