Twitching Index finger & neck herniated disc

I have been experiencing involuntary twitching in my left index finger for the past year and half.  The frequency of the twitching has greatly increased over the the last month to the point that it has become very annoying.  I also have a herniated disc in my neck at c7/T1, T2/3.  I have previously had a fusion at c3/4,4/5,5/6.  Is it possible that the disc herniation is causing the twitching in my finger?

With your prior history of cervical fusion, it is possible that the lower disc levels have had more degenerative changes which are causing your current symptoms.  Is the twitching the only symptom or are you also experiencing numbness/tingling or other muscular problems?
After a fusion the adjacent discs do take on the stress of the fused levels and the risk is greater for future problems and the need for possible additional surgery.  That would be dependent on the nature and extent of the degeneration.  The twitching is probably a direct result of nerve involvement which is triggering this response.
You would benefit from discussing this in more detail with your prior surgeon and determine what are the best treatment options available.  Since your symptoms have been present for over a year, it is not likely that they will resolve without some medical intervention.
Post again with an update and any additional questions/concerns you may have.
