Upper Back Pain/ Shortness of Breath after sleeping

I never had back pain before & got it on the night of my miscarriage 3 years ago. I've had it ever since with the exception of during my full pregnancy & during periods. For some reason it went away those times. The pain has gotten worse over the years & is now unbearable. It's ONLY in the morning when I wake up - after having laid down for hours you know. I've been to a physical therapist but nothing seems to work. It feels more like it's in my left lung & it's sometimes hard to breathe - really scary - like I'm drowning. But something wrong with my lungs doesn't make sense when I see that it goes away during periods etc. So I felt it was gas maybe - but changing my diet & trying to treat gas doesn't seem to make a difference & is also not explain by the times it goes away. Changing sleeping positions doesn't make a difference either - please help!

How are you? Are there other symptoms present? What diagnostic tests were  done in the past? Were there imaging studies done like x-ray or MRI? If physical therapy does not help, further evaluation may need to be done. A referral to a pulmunologist will help rule out lung issues. Take care and do keep us posted. Take care and best regards.
