Would steroidal anti-inflammatory pills cause this?

I have been having back pain for about 9 months. I recently went to the doctors and she really didnt know why. She prescribed a steroidal anti-inflammatory pill and some muscle relaxors to see if that would help. I cant remember the name of the anti-inflammatory but it is a corticosteroid. I took them for 6 days and the package they came in tapered them. Each pill was 4 mg. The day after my last pill I woke up and my neck (front and back), bottom jaw (under and on), base of my skull, my entire back and the base of spine HURT very badly to touch. It didnt hurt to move in any way but if there was any sort of pressure on any of those areas it was extremely painful. I took tylenol through out the day and 800 mg IB Prophin's. They did not help at all. So this is day 2 and the pain is still there. So my question is, would going off of those corticosteroid pills cause this? If the pain doesnt go away I will go to the doc but I feel stupid cuz it just HURTS to touch but it doesnt hurt to move. Any suggestions? Thanks!
