acute back and leg pain

I had a microdiskectomy in 1996 and was successful but unfortunately a few years later another disc was herniated, but that one went back itself. My job now entails alot of walking and cycling and I have to take Solpadol and tramadol every day for the leg and back pain, which is now causing stomach problems. Now my left knee is aching really bad after I cleaned my sons house the other day.
I am so fed up with constant pain and also I want to carry on with my job,can you please suggest any kind of treatment for me to stop this constant pain?.
I find it hard to stand for long periods this also starts the sciatic pain again.
