advice on rehaqbilitation following broken vertebra on patient receiving chemotherapy treatment at the moment

my sister who lives in France is having chemotherapy for lung cancer; she also had  6 sessions of radio therapy.  About 3 weeks ago she fell over and broke a vertebra, she spent 12 days in hospital and is now at home wearing a corset which she has to keep for 3 months.  I don't think she is doing enough to look after herself.  For instance she is using a garden lounger to rest during the day.  Should she have  proper equipment from the equivalent to the NHS such as a high chair, a lounger, and how about equipment to go to the toilet - does she need a seat to restrict how much she should lower herself?  Also, as she lives in Lyons where the summer can be unbearable when you live a flat - sometimes the temperature inside the flat is 35 degrees C, - should she not try to have a place in a rest home where it is cooler?  She is so weak at the moment and refuses visits.  I am flying to Lyons on Tuesday - not to counsel her but just to be with her; she does not know I am coming as she stops visits because after half-hour she can't cope with the noise.  Any advice would be really welcome.  Thank you
