anterior posterior lower spinal fusion L5S1

Hi I am a 59 year old female I have grade 2 spondylolisthesis of L5 due to pars interarticlaris defects and facet degenerative disc disease L4 L5 interspaces are narrowed I also have stenosis . I have been referred to a surgeon which I will see on the 26th? I am off work on short term disability my question is this the answer? I've horror stories of the recovery and surgery itself. I feel like i'm being stuck by a hundred bees in my lower back. my legs and feet have muscle spasms. the pain wakes me. I'm not able to work because I am a Janitor at my job. a lot of heavy lifting. can you tell me what to expect. what questions I should ask? Thank you. and I hope to hear from you.
