anti inflamatory - Lower pack pain

I have lower back pain.  Doctors think I have lumbar scheuermann disorder.  Schuermann's disease produces an increased kyphosis (forward bend) in the spine.  My problem is in the lower segments of the spine.  Anyways, I am very athletic and this causes lots of back pain.  I am assuming strenous exercise and training causes inflamation (inflammation) in that area.  I have been to chiropractors for a long time.  The pain management is very temporary.  I saw a surgeon and they did not want to do a surgery since it is very intensive which includes fusing 3 vertebrae and removing a piece of my hip.  Any recommendations for medications to rid me of the pain?  Possibly take the swelling down.  I do all the usual stuff such as icing and heat pads (thermo), back massagers, and ibuprofen.

Also, I saw some add for nuvasive.  Products specifically made for minimally invasive surgeries.  Do you think this could work for my situation?
