any advice for me?

any advice for me?

Hey guys, I've posted here before and got some good advice, so I'm back for more.
Long story short, I hurt my back 4 yrs ago. I'm 29 and in good health. I had an MRI 3 yrs ago that showed a few bulging disks and one herniated. Also, DDD, which I know is common.
I've tried phsical therapy, chiroprators, épidurals, you name it. Been on lots of anti-inflammatories too, neurontin, tramadol, and low dose Vicodin. At first the vicodin helped to "take the edge off", but over the last couple of years, it hasn't done much for my pain. I also do floor stretches when I can, and walk as much as I can. The worst things are sitting/driving. That hurts immensly, and hurts down my legs and butt. Sometimes my foot goes numb. At first, it was just my right leg, but the last 2 months or so, it has been my right and left leg. They didn't want to operate because I'm young, but now I've been suffering for 4 years, and its not getting better. In fact, the leg and butt pain is worse!
So yesterday, I went to a pain management clinic, hoping for the best. He says he doesn't think its the disk giving me problems, although the MRI is 3 years old now. He wants me to come back for lumbar facet injections and see how it goes. Well, I'm open to just about anything, but quite frankly, I'm ready for them to get inb there and see what's causing me so much pain. I don't sleep well anymore either, and its limiting what I can do. I lierally have to sit in my tub to shave my legs, since it kills me to bend forward.
So after I agree to try that, I ask for something for the pain to get me by, he says keep on the Aleve. Well, I've taken as much of it as I can, and it feels like I've taken a sugar pill. I called them back today in tears, telling them of the pain that I'm in, and could they give me something at least until I go back. Nope. She referred me back to my primary Dr!
Has anyone been thru anything like this? Or had a facet injection? I sure hope it works, but I haven't responded well to anything else. I'm hopeful, and thus I will try it. It seems strange to me that he didn't want a new MRI done, and totally blew off my bad disks. An orthopedic surgeon and a neurosurgeon both saw where the pain was coming from, but again didn't think surgery at that time was a good idea. I know the risks involved in it, but I'm at my breaking point now with this. Plus the fact that he wouldn't do anything for the pain?! I was referred to him for pain! At least until we figure out what's wrong. I'm having more leg and butt pain than I did at the time of my first MRI, That's why I thought it may be a good idea.
I believe my herniated disk was higher up, and like T12, but also at L5 S1.
Thanks for any and all info!

An L5-S1  herniation will have a painful effect on bending forward but only if the disc herniation is causing nerve entrapment. So either your pain management guy is right and it is not your disc causing the problem or the MRI is too old and there is now a herniation of a disc to cause your sciatica (ie leg pain and. numbness) Facet injections may work. but I would google piriformis syndrome, especially because you have  butt pain.See if your symptoms match. Take care
