My husband recently hurt the middle of his back while he was working. He said it was a sharp pain. Then 20-30 minutes later he had severe chest pains. He feels like he has to hold his breath sometimes to make it feel better. He can't take deep breaths. It happened about 6 hours ago, and he doesn't have the back pain anymore, but the chest pains still. Does anyone know what could have happened, or anything to help?
Sorry I am late to your question. I hope you have gone to Urgent Care or ER if not please do so.
It's likely your husband pulled the muscles and/or soft tissue in his ribs /chest as well as his back. That would explain the problem taking a deep breath. However when ever one has sharp chest pain we shouldn't assume anything. He needs to be evaluated asap to rule out cardiac issues. Again I hope you've done so.
Please let us know how he's doing. I'll watch for your updates.
