back itch with two black spots around shoulder blades

by markb65, May 08, 2007 12:00AM
I have two black spots on my back that itch, they are located around the shoulder blades and are not raised in any way. They look like bruises and only itch right after i bathe.

What do you think it is????

I would go to a dermatologist...worst case scenario, it may be melanoma. It's always worth it to get something like that checked out. Better safe than sorry!!

I had something similar and still do.  Went to the dermatologist 2 years ago and had one of the moles looked at (he actually took a sample and sent it off and nothing) then went back few months ago.  It is important to go to one especially if you have moles/dark spots.

This is actually a rare condition that has to do with a nerve in your back. It triggers an "itch like" sensation and the "brusies" are actually a discoloratipn from scratching. My dermatologist told me about it. If I can find the paper that i wrote the name of the condition on I will email you back. (I have it as well) Not much you can do about it though.
