back pain

by tony0283, Mar 08, 2007 12:00AM
Hello,

I have been experiencing lower back pain for about 2 years now. I had been seeing my primary doctor for this. He did xrays and determined that my spine does not have a natural curve and that was causing me discomfort. I have a job where i am riding in the car for 2 hours a day and spending 8 hours sitting at a desk, which both cause a lot of pain and discomfort. I went for an MRI and nothing noticable came up. This is very frusterating, since i am in a lot of pain and the doctors can not figure out what is going on so i am still waiting in limbo for what they will try next. The primary doctor prescribed me percocet once and a while which helped the pain for a little while, but after a few hours i was back in pain. Anyone out there have the same problem? I am in a lot of pain and discomfort and do not know what to do.

To: know the feeling
lord do i know how you feel. i've been in pain for the last 5 months and i've gotten MRI, spinal tap, nerve test and nobody sees anything, but i'm in pain everyday i'm awake. leg throbs all night and it's quite frustrating. i'm tired of the pain.  i sincerely hope that you can find a solution.  i usually ride in a car unless i'm out of the vehicle on a call, but now i'm on light duty so i'm on the desk and i can't sit in any type chair or i get pains shoting through my leg..i know how you feel

Was your MRI lying down? If so, try getting a seated MRI. Some disc herniations won't show up unless you're sitting down.
