Hi,  It is not the same.  I recently hurt my back and the general doctor classified me as a back sprain.  When it didn't heal in a week he sent me for a MRI and they found bulging and protruding discs and he sent me to a spine specialist saying he could only deal with the sprain and I needed a specialist to help me with the discs.

Did he fall at home or at work? Because if it was at work Workmen's comp will say it is a back strain. Did he get an MRI? X Rays will not show anything with the discs so an MRI is needed.

Hi...

he sacroiliac joint is the joint between the ilium and the sacrum at
the base of the vertebrae. Back pain is commonly attributed to
sacroiliac strain, that is, the stress upon the upper aspect of the
sacroiliac joint. Having looked at the joint itself, I have often
wondered if the joint is designed to bear weight from a vertical
spinal column. Since man has only been standing for a relatively short
time in the evolutionary scale, could it be that sacroiliac strain is
only a problem because we stand. I suspect four legged mammals have
the same pelvic structure as humans, but as they walk on two legs they
do not suffer from sacroiliac strain. Therefore is our sacroiliac
joint a fault in the design of what is otherwise a near perfect result
of million of years of evolution, or God's best design?
