back surgery ,now foot drop.

back surgery ,now foot drop.

I had a laminectomy one year ago and still have drop foot in my right leg and have a nerve that will not move the right foot. I went to the foot doctor who said they might be able to attach a nerve from one sid e of my foot to the other to replace this lost nerve but not sure. What is the best way to treat this? Do i spend the rest of my life with foot drop? I am 52 years old and in good health. The other problem I have with this is that I now see that my right leg is one half the size of my left due to not using this leg correctly. Is there any special exercises I can do to regain my muscle mass?  What re the best exercises i could do to rebuild the calf and thigh muscle. Would a stationary bike be good to use?  Any help would be appreactiated.
