My husband had a blood patch done 10 days after a pain infusion pump was put in. He had relief for one day. He rates his pain a 7 which it was a 10 before the procedure. Will it go away? Will he have to have another one? help. I had one great day with him without pain. Now its back. Can you help?
Epidural blood patch are usually quite effective and further investigations/ procedures are rarely required. If the pain has reduced, it is likely to further improve over the next few weeks. However if the symptoms aggravates at anytime, he may consider a review with his treating doctor for a detailed evaluation and suggestion of a appropriate management plan.
Hope this is helpful.
