I have severe pain in the left shoulder, radiating down to my wrist - also across to the back of my neck.
Went to dr. She said take 800mg Motrin three times a day. Not helping.
Went to an orthopedic today and had x-ray of neck and shoulder. Shoulder was normal. Getting MRI of neck. (I think it is more of my shoulder) but he said he sees bulging disks in neck and calcification (arthritis). Gave me a cortizone shot. Three hours later - still in pain. OMG! Are they expecting me to live with this unbearable pain! Can't sleep!
Last year had surgery on right shoulder - injury to shoulder gave me tendenitis and spur with impingment. Went to one orthopedic and he wated my time with expensive physical therapy. After that didn't work, I sought out a new dr and he did the surgery right away and I am pain free.
This is the same pain except I don't have limited ROM in my arm.
My question is what to do about the pain! Wow! It hurts constantly! I have been taking the Motrin - 800mg four times a day and it doesn't help at all! The cortizone shot is not working like it did with my last problem. OMG! Can someone help me.
My husband had bursitis in his shoulder last spring and the doctor told him to take some Aleve (because it contains naproxen) for the pain. If I remember correctly it took a couple of weeks for the pain to completely disappear. Hope you're feeling better soon.
where is the bursitis?? shoulder??
