burning sensation on thigh

burning sensation on thigh

I have bulging and degenerating discs in my neck and back from an injury I sustained over 20 years ago . As such , a lot of the pain I have in other parts of my body ( arms and legs ) people tell me is from nerve damage from both those injured parts . I've been having a burning sensation on the front of my thigh . It was once just a small area ( roughly the size of a silver dollar ) but now is at least an area the size of my palm . It feels like a numbness on the surface , but a burning under the skin . Lately , the burning is getting worse and it hurts alot ... like my thigh is on fire . It seems to be only when I'm standing , and once I sit ( like now ) it subsides and goes away ) . Is this from the back and neck injury like others have told me or something else entirely ??

Hi there!

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to tell. It could be related to the injury and further degeneration or could also occur due to an altogether separate issue like nerve damage, micronutrient deficiencies, neuropathy, vascular issues, endocrine/ metabolic issues etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a neurologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
