chiary malformation

Hi,my name is Lydia and I'm from Los Angeles, I've been diagnosed with Chiary malformation 1..  5 years ago.. back then my symptoms warn't so bad....but now I'm having really bad back pain,neck and awful migraines...I start having problems with my memory (like short term memory loss )...balance  and much more....:(....I dunno what 2 do since a lot of people with this disease didn't got better after the surgey....can anyone tell me if there's specialists doctors in this here in LA area....?....and onother question...is there any other way I can reduce my back pain  other than surgery? thank u :)

Hey Lydia...I've been looking for a surgeon also...im from the L.A. area! Have you tried UCLA...just looked it up and there's a neurosurgeon who specializes if Arnold chiari malformation... Ulrich batzdorf. Have you checked him out?

We have a Chiari forum here at Medhelp. Look under the C category. People there post about different doctors they have seen about this condition. It may be helpful to check there. The people are very caring and will try and help you out.
