Hello,
I am a modern dancer and recently when I have been doing head banging type movements I have experienced a sort of jolting starting at the base of my skull and zinging down my spine and arms.  I have a dr appointment next wens, but in the meantime....  Am I safe rehearsing?  Or is this really dangerous and I should keep my head still.
Thank you!  This is my job, but I don't want to hurt myself!

Yes this can hurt your neck. Is your hair long or tied up while head banging movements are done. Long hair whipping around could hurt your neck, hair is heavy. It's good to check with the doctor, but he will tell you if it hurts doing that, don't do it. If you have not had any neck problems and this is the first your neck has botherd you it's probably what you are doing right now in your dance.

Hope I Help

I would say you've given yourself whiplash. Go to the dr's and see what he says but oif you take it easy it should be ok by the time you go.

Change the music your dancing too!!!
