endplate sclerosis

i just had a 2nd post surgery mri, the new findings are endplate sclerosis most severe at L5 S1 and more significant narrowing than at L4 L5, (both are degenerative).  I can not find a definitive explanation for endplate sclerosis anywhere on the web, I was hoping to find some help here.  Thank you for your help.

Hi there!

Vertebral end plates are the top and bottom portions of the vertebral bodies that interface with the vertebral discs. Sclerosis refers to dead or damaged tissue. Sclerosed bone is seen as hyperdense regions in imaging studies.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
