gluteus medius
I was injured by a physical therapist two years ago.  Her aggressive manipulations for back ache ( twisting my left leg at an angle at 90 degrees jabbing her fingers into my spine at the same time) has left me unable to sit, stand, or walk for any length of time and with a chronically swollen, very painful gluteus medius on the same side. It is very sore to the touch, and swells even more when I attempt to increase activity.  Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is and how to deal with it, also, does anyone know of someone who is knowledgeable about this problem in the Atlanta area?  I have had mri's and x-rays but no diagnosis. I would really appreciate any help.
