help! i need a second opinion

i had surgery in 2004, fusion at L4, L5, & S1. i have two rods and six screws, my problem now is the doctor thinks the hardware might be irratating a nerve, she talked about removing the hardware. what i would like to know is would removal arrect the way i do anything or will i be able to do everthing i do now. Please just give me some pointers. THANKS

hi sorry to hear someone had the same thing i did, my surgery really didnt help, but i am on disability now  i dont have to go to work in pain  i just stay home in pain. Sorry im not helping u any. the first months i was on good pain meds, when they wore off is when i realized the surgery didnt help. but everybody is different and u will be just fine. just think positive  do everthing the doc tells u.  at least that is what everbody told me 3yrs. ago.  so now that i have told u the bad stuff, when u stop hurting u will be grateful u r not me.  Thanks for for your comment,   GOOD LUCK

I wish I could help you. I just recently had lumbar fusion (3 wks) L4 and L5. Still in a lot of pain maybe you could tell me how long this lasts and what I have to look forward to?
