is sciatica really this bad

hi , ive been to see my doctor and he says i have sciatica , buts thats without even examining me , so i need to ask if anyone else has had my symptoms , i had a pain which started in my lower back three months ago steadily it has gone down both legs mainly into my calfs and up my spine into the back of my head which  causes horrific headaches, and occasionally i get aching under my left side ribs , back and front , i would be grateful for any help...

Yes I 2 have these same problems.A neurologist can order a MRI & see if there is pressure on the nerve root at L5 S1,this is usually where the problem is that causes pain in lower parts of the body but,not always.I know how painful it is.I lose all strength in my leg,now I have So much scar tissue from stenosis & arthritis, they can't tell whether a disc is bulging or not.In my case I am getting epidurals now & have been for some time now,it helps for a few days but,the more you get usually they don't work as long as time goes on.I truly think they feel I've lived with this for this long I am able to endure it.I hope you do receive some treatment that will help you.
