Lyrica is an anti-convulsant that helps with nerve pain.  I am prescribed gabapentin (brand name is Neurontin), which is in the same family.  If you just started the Lyrica, give your body some time to get use to the medication. If the side effects persists after a couple of months, I would bring this to the attention of your physician.

I have heard the side effects of lyrica can be more irritating than with gabapentin.  Not to say gabapentin is side effect free but the only annoying side effect I had with gabapentin was a sore throat that persisted for 2-3 weeks and then went away.  However, others have experienced dizziness on gabapentin.  With both meds, the dose is slowly ramped up to a therapeutic amount.  Typically, you are prescribed 1 capsule on the first day, 2 on the second day, and so on and so forth.  This minimizes the side effects.  If you were initially started on several pills per day, this could make the initial side effects worse.

With every new med, you have to give your body some time to addjust especially if it is helping with your pain.  If it isn't helping, then there really isn't a good reason to continue suffering with the side effects.

Another option to discuss with your physician is ask if you can take your total daily dose at bedtime.  The dizziness and nausea should be reduced if not completely eliminated if you are asleep.  Some people take this approach versus having to deal with the side effects during the day.  However, many people do feel "hung over" the next day for awhile after taking the full dose of Lyrica or Neurontin at night but they have said that it goes away over time.
