lower back and hip pain

Hi there, I am a 36 year old woman. I injured my knee in February of 2007. Starting about  a month or so after I injured my knee(still taking physiotherapy and having knee pain) my lower back started to ache and then my right hip as well. I cannot bend over unless going very slow and getting up from sitting or laying down is very painful. Any idea if this is related to favoring my knee and not walking properly after the injury and after having surgery on my knee?
Thank you very much for your time

May I add on here as well? And any feedback would be great.
I too have been having severe right hip pain that comes from the lower back and from the middle back (torso) area. I have already went to my MD, a urologist, and a chiropractor. ALL to no avail.
I have had a CT scan done as well as back xrays....all negative.
Strange, but true,....when I experience sexual arousal and to sexual completion (ejaculation), I am getting some pulsating right hip pain during the ejaculation.  Sorry to be so graphic,....but does anyone know? or know anybody that had a similar issue?  None of these MD's can explain.
They thought kdiney infection/bladder infections.....but I had/have been on so many antibiotics ...it clearly is not that.
IT obviously is not a bone issue,...therefore I can only isolate this to a muscular issue.

Any info would be idea.

Thanks everyone.

I agree with Allie1971.  I was hurt in the hip and have all the symptoms above.  I continue to exercise anyways to the best of my ability.  When I stretch the entire hip to the low back hurts.

My doctor told me just today that an injury in the knee or hip could lead to pain all along the nerve that runs in that part of the body.  There is a nerve that runs from lower back, to the hip, to the knee.  It doesn't matter where it was injured, pain can show up anywhere along the nerves path.  I hurt my back in that area, consequently, my hip and knee hurts!

Best Wishes

the answer is probably not in "medication" or even in doctors but rather  in good posture/exercise and stretches. Go to a website by Jolie Bookspan and order her book on "How to fix your back pain without drugs or surgery" also get a book on posture by Paul D'Arezzo and do the exercise and stretching sessions often. hipe and low back pain usually comes from a forward tilt to the pelvis and is a postural problem.

you need to do stretches that stretch the hip flexors especially but also the quadriceps and the hamstring muscles. it sounds like a muscle imbalance and is probably related to your uneven walking from your knee surgery.
