Thanks for the info Dr told me I have a sprained back, gave me some meds for the spasms and pain would still like to know if it is a sprain or a disc problem  unless somesome has back problems they dont know what the pain can be like, I have had this happen three times already this year, Thanks again for taken the time to write a comment! Hello.  Im brand new to this forum but I thought I may be able to offer some help. sometimes back pain is caused by what is called facet joint stiffness.  It can lock and cause a lot of apin.  Ive had it for a long time following disc herniation and I need to have regular physio when it gets really bad. I do exercises all the time and have massages to help mobilize the joint and relax the muscles.  Back pain is awful and really affects your mood. I try not to take pills cause Ive seen many people addicted to pills and have a hard time getting off them. How u manage pain in very individual and I cant suggest what is best for you.  I can only say that for me I choose to be stubborn and keep exercising so I maintain strength and fitness. If I stop that the pain wins cause i lose strength, friends and a social life. I cant have that.  The strongest pills I take is panadol although a valium every now and then stops the spasms. to be honest I have multiple allergies which also determines what type of medicines I can take so Im not altogether an alternate thinker.  If I didnt have allergies I might be one of those people adicted to pain relief too. Who knows. But so far I feel more in control of my life if I take control of the pain and for me thats doing what I mentioned above.  Besides a massage is wonderful.  Take care and look after yourself in nice ways.  (Lilliath)
