I just had an MRI and I have an L4L5 bulging disc and an L5S1 annular tear. I am devastated. I am athletic 39 and my husband and I are going to sail around the world. What are my non surgical treatment options I am doing PT and It seems to be helping but I am only about 45% better after 8 weeks. I am losing my mind. I want to run and jump and play again. Am I doomed?
Could running have caused this? I started runing again after many years of just power walking and stair master and using the elliptical. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary. I work out 6 days a week run about 2 and use the elliptical the rest and weight train 3 days a week, or I used to . I just woke up with back pain one day!
