lumbar pain

lumbar pain

Please help me understand my MRI results. There is a mild broad-based disc bulge with a superimposed moderate central disc extrusion which, along with a mild bilateral facet and ligamentam flavum hypertrophy causes mild impingement of the traversing l5 nerve roots in the subarticular  recesses. The disc bulge causes mild inferior narrowing of both rt and lt neural foramen but without impingement of the L4 nerve roots.

What?

I am no expert but have had a MRI once every year since 1998,  In reading your post I see that you have a disc bulgings in two places the L4( not pinching the nerve) and the L5( which is compressing the nerve roots. The bulging disc possibly could heal over time but seems to me you will probably have nerve damage.

But the best thing is ask your doc to help you under stand, I hope that everything works out for you.
