neck shoulder pain after c5 c6 disc replacement

I had an artifical disc inserted between c5/c6 6 months ago because of progressive weakness, pain and loss of movement in both arms. My arms are fine now but the muscles in my neck and shoulders go into spasms which is very painful. Will these symptom subside or is there anything that i can do to alleviate them - my docture thinks that physios are satin's children and won't refer me to one.

When I had my neck done artificial discs weren't approved yet, but the kind of pain your having is very common with people that have had fusions too.Get your Doctor to prescribe you some muscle relaxants and you could probably find some exercises online that you could do at home that might help you. Some of those Physical Therapist can be a little dangerous.
