It can take a while to work based on what is wrong. What you describe in the first post sounds like you may have a nerve being pinched somewhere. It may be due to inflammation from inactivity then starting the walking ect or you may not be getting enough vitamins and your muscles and nerves are making up for it with the numbness. If it gets worse or you start to have severe pain please go to the doctor asap. There is a chart on my profile that may help it is a nerve conduction chart it shows what the nerves in  your spine and neck control. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Best wishes.

Take a B-12 vitamin. B-12 is one of the vitamins used to feed the nerves. I am not saying that is what is causing the numbness. The numbness is more that likely a pinched nerve. Going to the doctors and having it checked is the only way to be sure. I hope things get better soon. Best wishes.
