old back injury

I am a 22 year old woman an when i was about twelve years old i landed heavily on my tail bone i was barely able to walk for days and unable to sit for weeks my mum convinced me not to go to the doctor so i never  did i have had consistant lower back and hip pain ever since and also sciatica regularily is it worth me going to the doctor ten years later or is it too late anyway?
