pain in left arm

I'm not too sure if I am in the right area.  I started having a slight weakness in my left hand a couple of days ago.  Then last night I had pins and needles in my left hand (but not as severe as when it goes to sleep).  This morning I noticed along with the slight pins and needles feeling there is a pain in my palm between my ring finger and little finger, radiating up inner arm and around the outside where elbow is and up to my shoulder.  A collegue suggested it is carpal tunnel syndrome but wouldn't the pain stop at the wrist?  I'm thinking that it is a trapped nerve in my shoulder.  I think I know what caused it:  I tend to lean on my left hand (resting on chair) when working on my computer.  I just want to make sure it isn't something that needs urgent medical attention - my first thought was MS or something serious like that.

I've had good results with traction/decompression (so far) for symptoms similar to yours. I agree with richmill about pinched radicula nerve likelihood
