Icing down is just putting ice on the affected area. You can buy icepacks in various shapes and sizes. Check the local pharmacies or walmart. My sister uses bags of frozen veggies on her ankle when it bugs her. LOL!!!
thank u both for ur advice..i really apprichate it.....what exactly is icing down??
Sorry to hear about your pain. Last year I had developed a lot of burning, numbness, occasional sharp pain as well as my right knee would buckle from time to time. I got to my chiro and he did get me an MRI that showed a grade 2 sponylolisthesis. It was pinching nerves on both sides of my spine in low back which caused issues in same areas that you are having trouble with. I went through IDD therapy which helped a lot. I also had to do a lot of core exercise and regular stretching. I had also seen orthos and a neurosurgion. They all told me I needed a fusion. I wasn't ready for that and I'm still not ready. I still have some mild discomfort and some days are worse than others. My pain is manageable. I very seldom have to take anything stronger than ibuprofen. I also recomend icing down regularly. No longer than 20mins at a time though. It helps relieve inflammation and calm down muscle spasms.
The combo of the chiropractic care and exercise routine has really helped me out. I hope the dr's can figure out what is best for you. Push to get that MRI. Best of luck!!!
Without a mri I am not sure what you could do. I have had and do have herniated disc that pinched the nerves to my legs and it affected my thighs and groin area as well. You may want to check into chiropractic adjustments. When my back is out and I start having hip problems I know I need to get put back in place. You would be amazed at what problems can be fixed. I am not saying that this will solve your problems just that it may help you. Best wishes.
