post laminectomy questions

I under went a laminectomy at L5S1 October 9 after suffering from severe sciatica and after receiving 2 epiderals, one of which left me with partial numbness on the right side of my right foot and in my right heel. The doctor found that this disk had ruptured and removed what he described as two pieces of disk material the size of olive pits. I should also mention that my L4 disk is also herniated and I have 30 degree kyphotic scholiosis in this area.  I have been doing my physical therapy and not lifting or doing anything too strenuous; however, now I have begun to experience lower back ache and discomfort behind my right knee and some achiness at the tops of my legs in the last 10 days. I am 56, otherwise healthy, and of petit stature. I had been doing really well but now don't understand what could be going on. Any ideas?
