my husband is 34 and has broken out with shingles on his head and neck. as if that weren't bad enough, his neck has a hard swollen lymph node(?). how concerned should i be? he has seen a doctor and started aclyvir today. any help is appreciated.
shingles is tough, but starting anti-biotic early (1st 48 hrs) is crucial to limit viral time duration. There is nothing can be done, except taking his medicine, and will take its course (2 weeks) for blisters to disappear, plus itching and pins and needels feeling for 4 more weeks or so. Be careful, shingles is contagious so stay away from anyone who didn't take chicken pox vacine. lymph node is more important to know what is it than shingles
