spinal stimulator

has anyone else had the ans unit implanted? I've had mine for 3 weeks now and both incision areas are still killing me. The area in the stomach buldges alot where the unit is.If anyone knows how long it takes for the pain to stop, I would love to know. Thanks

I had a pain pump implanted on 3/4/08 and my incision is still not closed.  Went in a week ago last Wedn and my doc took out 131 cc seromas.  Went back this last Tues and she removed another 134cc's.  I am so ready to move on in my life but keep having setbacks.  i will see tomorrow Fri what she draws out.  Me too I feel old.  Had 4 failed back surgeries last year.  The pump help at least 50%.  I just hope my body does not reject this.  Most of my incision pain has stopped and feels even better when fluid is removed. ~~ patzinpc

Good luck, I had my pump put in on June 13th and had it removed on Aug 7th.  Mine was not working and had lots of pain issues with it and my incision in the back was still draining and quite swollen.  My neuro surgeon was quite opposed to taking it out, but after I insisted he remove it he had no choice but to do as I insisted.  Maybe in 6 months or so I will look more into the stim unit, my sis inlaw has it and she loves it.  But I know the surgeon that did the pain pump will never touch me again.  Remember your calling the shots.  Good luck
