syrinx back injury

syrinx back injury

hi, im a company truck driver that was injured on the job. i was diagnosed with syringomyelia or syrinx for short. i have a lot of pain in my upper body. the injury runs from the t-4 to the t-11 area. im on workmens comp and feel im just being jerked around. they sent me to a pain management place and all they have done is take my pain medicine away and give me a muscle relaxer that does no good and put me thru some test that has caused more pain and im afraid more injury. i cant find much information and the doctor tells me even less. from what i have found is this is a life long injury and could possibly paralyze me. i dont know what to do or where to turn. im only 36 yrs old and have 3 small children to take care of. any help is welcomed. thanks, john

Hi...we have a forum here on MedHelp for Chiari and Syringomyelia......we also have a list of drs made by the members of drs they  went to and were happy with. U deff need a dr that specializes in this area of concern.

It depends on how large ur syrinx is and if it is compressing ur spinal cord...do u know if u have chiari as well?

Do u have copies of ur MRI and the reports?...if so u r equipped for a second opinion.

I hope u stop by the Chairi forum.
