by kkaarreenn23, Jan 06, 2008 03:45PM
hi, i have had back problems for about 2 years now, the pain got that severe i went to my doctors who refared me to the phisio. after examin my back i was told that i am using the wrong part of my back, the thoracic middle of my back. i was told to do regular excersises to improve my posture and get my lower back working again. I have been doing the exercises for about 4 weeks and still no change, im in real pain most days. over the past week i have started to get chest pain between the breasts moslty to the right. i get im when i move in certain positions but not all the time. can you tell me if this is the back trouble causing this? im very scared and dont know what to do about it. its mainly fine when i have my bra on, its when i take it off. i can only sleep in certain positions in bed. Im told there is no scans they can do and i really dont want to be on pain killers all the time so i dont know what to do. please help

Where do you live?
"Using the wrong part of the back"- now that really is a constructive diagnosis!
I have had off and on pain for many years that is located in my upper mid back and at times radiated around to the front just under the breastbone. My doc order a thoracic MRI which noted a slight disc herniation at the T9-T10 level. So scans/tests can be done to look at the thoracic spine. Whether this is your problem or a muscle related issue or something non-muscoskeletal such as TMS syndrome, I do not know. MRi may show something or not. Also myocarditis might cause similar symptoms, but probably a long shot.

Good Luck
