throat spasms

for several months i have had a feeling of swelling on the right side of my neck with a big knot and difficulty swallowing on that side as well. i feel like a lump is in my throat.  many doctors said i have cervical spasms.  i was diagnosed with epstein barr. it is muscular pain not lymph nodes the doctors say.    now i find that it has affected my breathing.  i think i am having spasms in  my throat, i feel like my throat is paralyzed, i couldnt swallow or breath for a few seconds one day.  i also wake up like i am choking and cant breath.  my question is "could cervical spasms cause this sensation?  and can epstein barr cause muscle spasms?,  i now have them in my back as well. i have been sick for a month, with flu like symptoms but i dont have a fever, blood work is good.  neck cat scan is good too. still feel the lump on the right side of throat even with the muscle relaxers.   ear nose throat dr's didnt find anything.  had facial pain and eye pain with swelling couple months back.eye swelling almost everyday still.   could it be related?  what do you think it this is. Help.
