tingling fingers

tingling fingers

I have constant tingling sensation in all of my fingers and my hands have a feeling of stiffness and sometimes numbness for about 3 months.... now with certain movements like bowing my head (looking down) the feeling is actually like an electric shock that goes through my entire upper body upon certain movements.

Went to an Orthopedic Surgeon about a month ago for the symptoms, he suggesting some testing for carpel tunnel. Had EMG which showed carpel tunnel in my right, not my left, He didn’t seem to think it needed surgery at this point.... Had an MRI, which showed a bulging disk in C2/C3, but the dr. didn't seem like that was an issue. I told him when I bow my head that it sends a tingling feeling through out my body mostly down my arms into my thumbs and fingers.... he didn’t seem to think it was a problem and ask me to come back in about 3 months if its not better...

Went to my Family DR., told him the situation, I was reading up on the symptoms on web MD, found it matched pernicious anemia, based on past symptoms it seemed to fit.... redness on tongue, tiredness, tingling of the hands/fingers, The blood tests have showed I have b12 defiency (190) I am now getting treated with daily shots for 7 days then 1 time a week then 1 a month...I had thought I had pernicious anemia because of the symptoms, however I don’t think its helping the tingling of the fingers and stiffness/numbness of hands....This Dr. told me to do exercises which I have been doing for the past 2 weeks...still ....the same feeling...

I'm getting frustrated. I don’t know if its neck/back related but don’t know what to do at this point....

Yes...the location of your bulging disc C2/C3 most often shows up in the pain areas you described.
Doctors like to "push-it-off" because usually the condition gets better in a few weeks and there are MANY views on how to proceed. you need to contact your Ortho again. Make an appointment and get him to refer you to a pain clinic so you can get some help. Tell him the pain is worsened..you don't have to wait 3 months (that really pisses me off).
If you want to give it a couple of weeks to do some backd streches and if you can get in the water and swim but if it's not going away...it's not going away.
