upper back pain thoracic area

upper back pain thoracic area

Eight days ago when, I got out of bed, I  took a deep breath and rolled my shoulders back.  I had an immediate shooting pain from the middle of my back to my sternum.  It was intense.  It was not heart related.  The first day was not too bad...normal activities and slight pain.  Since then the pain has gotten worse and is keeping me awake at night and interfering with my normal routine.  I've read about trigger points for the Left Anterior Scalene Muscle and the Serratus Posterior Superior Muscle.  Activating these trigger points help with the pain, but I still have pain in the major muscle group running up and down the left side spinal column.  It hurts in this area when I move my chin to my chest.  It hurts when I take a breath.  It hurts when I hold my breath.  The specific area is about two inches to the left of the thoracic vertebrae located behind the heart.  Is there a nerve trigger point that I can manipulate to relive this pain?  If so, what would be the best way to manipulate the trigger point?  I am a male, 6 foot, 185 lbs.  Have a physical annually, and am in good health.  I was trying to get this message to a guy that goes by the handle PPNH.  I read his input at another location on your site.  If he can't be found, I would just appreciate some help with this issue.  I have been to my chiropractor three times  and have had muscle relaxers prescribed by the family doctor and yet the issue persists.  Thanks,  redleg64
