whiplash 5years from date of accident

Just have had a whip lash from an accident 5years ago show up.With damage to one of my disks and they are giving me anti-inflamatories for this because of the spurs that our giving me pain. Is the drug Lodine going to give me alot of problems the Nabumetone Generic for Relafen sure did.
