worn out discs

i have worn out discs in the neck have had a microdisectomy if that is spelt correctly in c5 c6 now the top discs are worn out is there anything that can be done to stableise these discs and how bad will it get if they keep deteriorating im on 150mcg of fentanyl now where do i go once im on the highest dose i can have im allergic to morphine pethadine and tylex  can discs be replaced or is that too dangerous in the neck

It sounds as if you have moderate to severe degenerative disc disease in your cervical spine.  Did you recently have an MRI that indicated degenerative changes?
Treatment can vary greatly depending on the extent of degeneration and whether there are other structural changes in the vertebrae that may be contributing to your symptoms.
Cervical spine surgeries vary from the microdiscectomy you mentioned to discectomy and fusion of the affected areas The fusion is done to remove abnormal discs,relieve nerve compression and stabilize the spine.
Artifical disc replacements are done, but if there are structural changes of the spine such as spondylolisthesis (vertebra slipping forward over adjacent vertebra) it is not feasible.  Also, the use of disc replacements is only for one or two levels at this time.
Pain control measures other than the Fentanyl patch can vary from neuropathic drugs to implanted spinal stimulators.  If you are not achieving significant pain relief, a referral to a pain management specialist might be beneficial.
