you out there sandyriker??

Hi there Sandyriker, how are things going with the husband's pain?
I feel like I am really back where I started.
Lots of pain in my neck, and shoulders.
Have had ultrasound and it helped. May start that again and keep at it longer.
Muscle relaxers and pain meds make me too sleepy to function, and can't imagine having to be on meds the rest of my life!
Would like to hear from others out there that have had artificial cervical disc replacements!!

Hey there, sorry It took me so long to respond!
I am seeing a Physical Therapist, and am getting ultrasound, and am doing lots of stretches and using a ball to stretch my back on.
I am having so much pain though, drives me nuts!
I am trying to not take stuff, but some days I just have to.
I have never heard of the McKenzie method, but  looked up some of the Dalton and others that someone on this post recommended, and I think I will just have to retrain all the muscles in my neck and shoulders to get them back where they were before my surgery! Hope your Husband is feeling better soon, tell him, he has my sympathy!
Regards, Tammy

Hi I am here!! I work alot and between that and running to doctors...sorry it took so long. You can email me direct if you want... ***@****
My husband recently saw a pain management doctor- first time we hav actually felt hopeful in a long time... he is goingto do the electrical stim too, we did not start it yet. Have you ever heard of the McKensie(sp) method for pain relief? Same here with the neds... it scares me to think of what the meds themselves do over time. It would be good to share ideas, there is not alot out there with this type of surgery. I would be glad to share the info from pain management though.
